All candidates are encouraged to use the Online Application Form. Candidates can complete the form by following the instructions on each page.
Unfinished form can be saved by pressing the “Save” button at the bottom of the page, and be retrieved later by using applicant’s email address and last name.
The applicant, after reviewing and verifying all the information on the form, can press the “Submit” button to summit the registration form. A summary page listing the essential application information will be generated upon the submission. Candidate should print out this page or save it in a file.
Online applicants will receive an auto-generated e-mail within 24 hours. However, this only confirms successful transmission, and should not be construed as confirmation of eligibility. Candidates who do not receive this auto-generated message should contact EMCI™ Certification Department immediately at emci@asme.org because it may indicate that the application was not successfully transmitted.

- Include credit card information for payment.
- Carefully review and confirm the information entered.
- Submit the EMCI™ Certification Examination Online Registration Form
- Print the summary page.
- Receive e-mail confirmation (includes your unique EMCI ID number).
- Mail or fax proof of graduation documents such as official transcript, a copy of the diploma, or a letter from school registrar office within 5 working days of application.
- Application reviewed by the EMCI™ Review Committee for eligibility.
- Authorization to Test or notice of ineligibility letter issued (includes your unique EMCI ID number) within 10 to 14 business days.
